PREFACE
THE ANGELUS OMNIBUS is a three-part epic story set within the realm of the Solus Hexus; the first of which is titled THE BROTHERS ANGELUS.
EXORDIUM: THE BROTHERS ANGELUS begins on the planet Terra, which is inhabited by billions of Terrans of all walks of life. The Terran people are intelligent but fickle, strongwilled but narrowminded, ultimately curious yet tragically prideful. Above the most intellectual and influential Terrans is Arcus Angelus. A preeminent physicist and astronomer, father of four sons, and unknown lone survivor of a race thought extinct to the Solus Hexus. In the height of his career he gifts the Terran people some of the most groundbreaking technologies capable of lifting life beyond its terrestrial confines: ion propulsion, orbiting colonial satellites, developments in cosmic theory, and above all else inter-galactic travel. The apex of his advancements comes in the form of THE OUTER HEAVEN, the pioneering spaceship designed to take Terranity to new heights by way of the Galaxia--Arcus' theoretical space between space--allowing for expedited intergalactic travel.
Due to his unknown alien heritage, Arcus' innate intelligence and abilities are beyond those of normal Terrans, yet his pride and curiousity ultimately cloud his judgement and he takes it upon himself to captain THE OUTER HEAVEN on its maiden voyage into the unknown beyond. Seeking to expand its influence evermore, the gluttonous and rapacious Terran governing body--the UNITED TERRAN FEDERATION--fully funds and furnishes Arcus' research and exploratory project, with the hopes of expanding its dominion into the stars.
Despite Arcus' previous successes, his culminating creation proves to be his ultimate downfall. THE OUTER HEAVEN launches successfully and departs Terra without incident, but upon entering the Galaxia it becomes confined to its borders; imprisoned in the space between space, lost to the cosmos, trapping its crew and Arcus in the uncharted depths of space.
Arcus' departure and unexplained disappearance creates a rift in his sons' lives and they slowly go their separate ways doing their best to define their own existences. The oldest brother Davriel enlists in the UTF Marine Corps and pledges himself to the life of the soldier, while the youngest brother Cephus is persuaded by his own step-father to enroll in the UTF Naval Guard Academy and seeks solace on the seas. The firstborn of Arcus' twin sons, Jonos, follows a childhood interest in aviation and becomes a pilot, while his brother Savos still struggles to adapt to their father's departure. Living ever against the ghost of their father Savos becomes detached from his surroundings and moves abroad in an attempt to find his place in the world.
ANON: After several years of aimless searching Savos returns to his hometown with little to show from his travels and reunites with his twin brother Jonos, now a highly skilled pilot and flight instructor. Together they stumble onto a discovery so massive that it shatters their perception of life itself. Fate intervenes when the twins are further united with their two brothers Davriel and Cephus. Together they all embark on a journey of discovery and peril, tracing their father's footsteps and forging new paths of their own into the vast cosmos, the final frontier, the outer heaven.
